Obituary for Barbara Lea Baartman
Barbara Parker Baartman, 55, passed away at her home September 21st, 2018 with her family by her side. Barbara was born in Altus, Oklahoma on November 5th, 1962 to Merrill Ann Parker and Henry Wilton Parker.
Barbara enjoyed being with her friends and her family. She was a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews. She had a special place in her heart for her great-nephews Parker and Stevie, that she cared for with all her heart.
Barbara was known for her quick wit and great sense of humor.
Barbara loved music and going to concerts. She enjoyed playing games and going fishing and camping.
She was an animal lover and was always adopting shelter pets. Her last adopted pet was her cat Tom, who has been her companion for sixteen years.
Barbara is preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her sisters; Robbe’ LaMunyon and her husband Danny, Sally George, Merry Smith and her husband Randy, Elizabeth McCuistion and her husband Danny, and Margaret Disney. She leaves behind her nieces and nephews; Amanda Redding and husband Tyler, Whitney McCuistion, Skyler Smith, Chelsea Reed and husband Rory, Christopher Groves, Shane McKee, Tommy Disney and wife Ashley, Drew, Brady, and Tyler George, and Jake LaMunyon and wife Mercedes. She also leaves behind her Uncle Bob Dantzler and his wife Betty, along with special cousins, Nancy and Alice Dantzler and Danny Thompson and wife Angela. She will also be missed by a host of many other family members and a sea of friends.
In Lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to The Amethyst House in Altus, Oklahoma.
