Audencio “Dan†Aguilar, age 91 a long-time resident of Altus, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Plantation Village Nursing Center in Altus.
Dan was born in Poteet, Texas on September 29, 1925 to his parents Manuel and Goyita Aguilar. Dan’s parents died when he was very young and he worked at a restaurant where they provided him food and a place to stay. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and received an honorable discharge. On April 2, 1966 he Dan married Victoria Gonzales and they enjoyed over 50 years of marriage together. He worked in many jobs throughout his life including Southwest Metal in Altus. Dan enjoyed woodworking and landscaping with his wife Victoria.
Preceded in death by his parents; Dan is survived by his wife Victoria Aguilar of Altus; one son, Daniel Aguilar of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Alice Mills and husband Gerald of Ohio; and Melinda Flynn and her husband Cliff of Altus; six grandchildren, Dennis Neel and wife Ashley; Danny Neel; Billy Neel and wife Pamela; Maria “Shine†Gonzalez and husband Richard; and Ashley Mavorgeorge and husband Jason; Richard Mills; eight great grandchildren, Addison, Tyler, Blake, Kylee, Sicily, Malea, Keegan, and Makenzie; two great great grandchildren, Mia and Makaylee; as well as other family members and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be at 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel in Altus with Brother Jim Delver officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
