Obituary for Antonio Montalvo Sanchez
Antonio "Tony" M. Sanchez, age 74, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 7, 2011, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Tony was born May 10, 1936, in McAllen, Texas, to Jos" and Paulina (Montalvo) Sanchez. On April 21, 1954, he married the love of his life, Criselda Canales in Rio Grande, Texas. To this union, they had ten children. After moving to Altus, Tony worked as a mechanic. Tony enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, working in the yard, watching football, and loved listening to music.
Tony was preceded in death by his father, Jos" Sanchez, his mother, Paulina Sanchez, two brothers, Juan Sanchez and Esteban Sanchez, and one sister, Delia Estraca.
He is survived by his wife, Criselda Sanchez of Altus; four sons, Bernie Sanchez of Altus, Jessie Sanchez and Linda of Altus, Tony "B" Sanchez, Jr. and wife Yamel of Altus, and Ronnie Sanchez and wife Wendy of Moore, Oklahoma; three daughters, Melba Cerda and husband Chris of Altus, Linda "Mattie" Lopez and husband Elias of Olustee, and Lori Dehtan and husband Buddy of Eldorado; four brothers, Jos" Sanchez, Tino Sanchez, Pete Sanchez, and Thomas Sanchez; four sisters, Amelia Guerra, Blanche Flores, Maria Hinojosa, and Janie Kimble; twenty-four grandchildren, Christina, Leo, Kendra, Mitzi, Jennifer, Joe, Jacob, Priscilla, Adriana, Vanessa, Robert Ray, Shabrail, Mariah, Landon, Nathan, Lyndsey, Jonathan, Tyler, Jessica, Shyanne, Dylan, Rylee, Brookelyn, and Brodie; twenty-nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, of the charity of one's choice.
Memorial Services for Tony Sanchez will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 11, 2011, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Altus with Reverend Boyd Whitehead officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
