Obituary for Anona C. Cooper
Anona C. Cooper Anona C. Cooper, Age 70, passed away Sunday, April 16,2000, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus. She was born July 28, 1929 in Port,, Oklahoma to Cecil and Lucille (Smith) Lidia. Anona lived in the Altus area for the last twenty-five years, moving here from Sentinel. She is survived by : her children, Vickie Hooley and husband, Colin, of Mangum; Lea Ann Daffron of Altus, one sister, Nelrita Eatherton of Las Animas, Colorado; six granddaughters and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by; her mother and father-step father, Dick Abston; husband, Paul Cooper, in January of 1995; and one daughter, Diana Schuffler, in September 1993. Anona was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies' Auxiliary, She graduated from Sentinel High School in 1946. Anona was retired from Civil Service at Altus Air Force Base, where she had been employed as a supply analyst for thirty years. She enjoyed spending her time with family and friends. Services are scheduled for Tuesday at 2:00 PM, April 18, 2000, at the Lowell Tims Chapel with The Reverend Keith Gillham officiating. Interment will follow in the Sentinel Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
