Obituary for Alvin "Tom" Heidebrecht
Alvin "Tom' Heidebrecht passed away July 25, 1999 Corn Heritage Village surrounded by his family. Alvin was born September 25, 1913 at Corn, Oklahoma. He was the first of nine children born to Henry H. and Anna (Heibert) Heidebrecht. He attended Pleasant View School. In 1941 he married Abbie Boaldin. They were married for 54 years before she preceded him in death. Together they lived and worked in Altus for many years, Tom as a civilian employee at Altus Air Force Base.

Tom served honorably in the United States Army during World War II as staff sergeant and fought in major campaigns in Algeria, French Morocco, Tunisia, Sicily, Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland. He earned the Bronze Star.

He was active in the American Legion serving at the local level at Posts in Corn, Dill City, and Altus. He was the number one support system for Abbie in her services with the American Leigon Auxiliary.

He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Altus. Tom was also a farmer and lover of the land, running the family farm in Corn while he worked at other jobs. He was a devoted son to his parents, and treasured his brothers and sisters.

Tom was a father who did his utmost to instill his values and strength in his children
by example. He encouraged them in whatever endeavors they under took. Tom especially enjoyed attending basketball games coached by Tommy and Jason. He instilled the love of the land and nature in his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his children; Tommy Heidebrecht of Corn, Oklahoma; Anna Beth and husband, Tex Rollins of Oklahoma city, Oklahoma, Kay and husband Dr. Richard Wilson of Waco, Texas. His grandchildren, Jason and wife Shelley Heidebrecht of Cordell, Oklahoma; Stephanie Heidebrecht of Enid, Oklahoma and Tabatha Wilson of Waco, Texas; also his step-grandchildren, April Rollins and Carliss Briggs of Ada, Oklahoma. He had one great granddaughter, Chelsea Abigail Heidebrecht of Cordell, Oklahoma; Tom is also survivedBy his sisters, Susan Hardgrave of Newbury Park, California, and Dorothy and husband Dick Marshall of San Anselmo, California; brother, John Henry Heidebrecht of Corn; sister-in-law, Emma Le Heidebrecht of Mt. View, Oklahoma, Lucille Heidebrecht of Cordell, Oklahoma, Dorothy Abbott, and Madge Bills of Altus, Oklahoma; Agnes Whittington, Tom Ball, Texas; also brother-in-law Joe Boaldin and Joe Boaldin of Altus, Oklahoma; Leland Boaldin and wife Pyrlene of Vernon, Texas; and
Wilmer Boaldin and wife Barbara of Eldorado, Oklahoma; his also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife Abbie, parents, his brothers, Paul, Elmer, and Ed Heidebrecht; and his sisters Matilda and Leona Heidebrecht.
