Altha Maria Byrd age 89 of Olustee, Oklahoma died at the Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma March 13, 1965. She was born March 9, 1876 in Yancy County, North Carolina to Mac Byrd and Allie (Deaton) Byrd.. She had been a resident of Jackson County since 1901. Altha Maria married I.M. Byrd and he preceded her in death June 7, 1957.
Funeral services for Altha Maria Byrd are scheduled for Monday, March 15, 1965 at the Tims Chapel at 10:00 am officiated by Rev. Jim Sanders. Burial will follow in the Victory Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Altha Maria Byrd is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Katherine J. Rogers, Victory, Oklahoma; Mrs Holmes Foster, New York City; Mrs. A. O. Angilly, Pleasontville, New York; Miss Mary Belle Byrd, Wichita Falls, Texas; one son, Charles M. Byrd, Victory, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Jim Peterson, North Carolina; Mrs Margaret Honeycutt, North Carolina; Mrs. Oma Bailey; North Carolina; one brother Levi Byrd, New Hope, Arkansas.
