Alma Hopkins-Goad, 96, of Hot Springs, Arkansas went home to Glory on September 1, 2011. She was born June 27, 1915 in Willow, Oklahoma to Claude and Clara Cox.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands; Johnny Hopkins and Leo Goad and a son, Norval "Hoppy" Hopkins.
She was a homemaker and worked in the restaurant business for many years before moving to Hot Springs, Arkansas to make her home. She loved the Lord and loved to sing in the church. She would iron for anyone that would let her, she loved to take a wrinkled garment and make it look like new. She is now wearing robes that will never need to be ironed.
She is survived by a daughter, Darlene Foster of Woodward, Oklahoma; a son, Jack (Tommy) Hopkins of Lubbock, Texas; a daughter, Donna and son-in-love Mickey Wright of Hot Springs, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Jeanne Mendelsohn of Paradise Valley, Arizona and Llola Yount of Farmington, Arkansas along with many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Alma Hopkins-Goad were at 2 PM, Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Willow Cemetery. Local services were under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
Memorials may be made to the First Church on the Nazarene in Hot Springs, Arkansas or to Odyssey VistaCare Hospice Foundation, 10800 Financial Centre Parkway, Ste 380; Little Rock, Arkansas 72211.
