Obituary for Alma E. Thomason (Mrs.H. Ross)
Alma E. Thomason (Mrs H. Ross) age 86 of Duke, died Thursday, August 12, 1999 at Grace Living Center. Services will be Sunday, August 15, 1999 at 2:30pm at the Duke First United Methodist Church, with Reverend Elbert Shumaker and Rev. Keith Gilliam officiating. burial will be in the Victory Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims.

She lived on the farm her grandfather settled on in 1889. the farm was honored as one of the centinnel farms of Oklahoma in 1991. She was born and raised on a farm three miles east of Duke to John Earl and Altha Laura (Burden) stout. She married Ross Thomason December 20, 1939. Moved from the family farm until 1959 and returned making her home there until ill health.

She is survived by one son Harvey and wife Dena of Snyder, Oklahoma (formerly of Duke) a granddaughter Kayla and husband roger Brooks Brooks of Springfield, Virginia and a great grandson Zachary Brooks and two step-grandchildren Denice and husband David Finch of Hobart and Chris Burrows of Hobart, Oklahoma; three great granddaughters, and two great grandsons; two sisters Louise Jordan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Maola Martin of El Paso, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband H. Ross Thomason, two brothers, Carl Stout (Ret, Fire Chief) and Clifford Stout, three sisters Carrie Draper, Iona Watson, and Clara Hatcher.


Memorials may be made to the Duke Methodist Church or Victory Cemetery.
