Obituary for Alice Lucille McCoy
Lucille McCoy, age 81 longtime Altus resident passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at Jackson county Memorial Hospital. She was born April 9, 1919 in Laverty, Oklahoma to John Warren Yoder and Nettie (Graves) Yoder.
Lucille had lived in the Altus Community since 1946 having moved here from Chichasha, Oklahoma. On June 20, 1936 in Chickasha, Oklahoma Lucille and Carl McCoy were united in marriage.
She was a wonderful homemaker an minister's wife, who devoted her life to serving her husband and God. She enjoyed being involved with the church women's organization and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Rev. Carl McCoy of the home in Altus, one son, Don McCoy and his wife Peggy of Plano, Texas; three sisters, Evelyn Russell of Shelbyville, Tennessee, Ann Smith of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Dorothy Stallings also of Chickasha, Oklahoma; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Earl Yoder, two sisters, Pearl Mash and Mary Williams.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday March 10, 2001 at 2:00pm at the First Assembly of God with rev. Richard Ventonis officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
