Mr. Rogers was born in Plainview, Oklahoma, on the family farm, on August 29, 1926 to Homer Robert and Jessie Leona (Nippert) Rogers. While attending school at Plainview, Alfred entered the United States Navy and proudly served his country. After his discharge, he returned to Plainview School to complete his high school education. A life-long farmer and rancher, Alfred worked for a time at Armco Steel and drove a truck for Jewett Scott Trucking. In the mid 1960"s, Alfred began a career in law-enforcement at the Oklahoma State Reformatory and was later elected Chief of Police, in Mangum, and later was elected Greer County Sheriff, where he served until his retirement. Alfred was one who didn"t sit idle and later worked part-time at the Mangum Golf Course. In his spare time, Alfred enjoyed spending time golfing, fishing and camping, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Helen Lively and Rhonda "Sis" Anderson and two brothers, Foy Rogers and Ralph Rogers, he is survived by his wife Doris, of the home, in Mangum; two sons, Dale Rogers and wife Brenda of Mangum and Eddie Rogers and wife Twyla of Mangum; seven grandchildren, Michael Keith Rogers and wife Shawnya of Mangum, Brandon Dale Rogers and wife Candy of Cordell, Michael Kelly Rogers and wife Holly of Mangum, Michelle Renee Huckabay and husband Devin of Mangum, Jessica Leigh Lemley and husband Bobby of Nitro West Virginia, Jordan Paul Rogers of Mangum and Allyson Dawn Rogers of Mangum; nine great grandchildren, Shelby Rogers, Jentry Rogers, Anthony Rogers, Meagan Rogers, Sarah Rogers, Nicole Rogers, Avery Rogers, Katlynn Huckabay and Kyra Huckabay; two brothers, Jimmy Rogers of Eufaula and Willie Rogers and wife Novella of Ft.
