Obituary for Alda Madge Patton
Alda Madge Patton was born January 22, 1912 in Utica, Oklahoma, to Louis and Edna (Lee) Linville. She passed away March 1, 2004, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Alda received her teaching certificate from Southeastern State College and taught several years in Utica. Later, she received her bachelor's degree from Southwestern State College in Weatherford.
In 1931 she married the love of her life, Elbert Patton and shared sixty-five years with him. For 33 of those years, she and Elbert taught in several schools in Southwestern Oklahoma, retiring from Lawton schools.
Alda was never happier than when she was reading a good book, cooking special meals for her loved ones or writing family history.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elbert and her brother, Don Linville.
She is survived by three sons, Elbert Lee Patton, Jr. and his wife Sharon, Gary Patton and wife Frances and Ronnie Patton and wife Nancy. Grandchildren included, Mark, Chuck and David Patton, Donna Cline, Mitzi Patton, Gigi Lemmon, DeLyn Mattingly, Nancy Harkey, Rob and John Patton; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Charline Booth, one brother Ray Linville and her loving nieces and nephews and their families.
Funeral Services for Alda Madge Patton are scheduled for Saturday, March 6, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Martha Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The family of Alda Madge Patton will greet friends Friday evening, Mar 5, 2004 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Lowell-Tims.
