Alana French Tennessen was born June 3, 1945 at Frederick, Oklahoma to Alan and Wyvona French. She died August 20, 1993 from injuries resulting in a car accident in Oklahoma City. She graduated from Frederick in 1963. She attended South Western University where she attained her BA and 2 Masters Degrees. She graduated Summa Cum Laude. She married Charles (Doc) Tennessen November 28, 1964 at Frederick, Oklahoma. She taught English at Hobart High School.

She was also the School Librian at Hobart. She moved to Altus in 1988 where she served as School Counsler at the Eugene Field and Roosevelt Elementary Schools. She was also actively involved with the Oklahoma Counseling Association, American Counseling Association, Oklahoma School Counseling Association, Association for Play therapy, Quest-Skills for Growing, Skills for Adolescence, Dare, Kiwanis Safety Town, Jackson County Protection Team, Shout No Campaign, Red Ribbon Campaign, Child Abuse Prevention and Roosevelt & Eugene Field PTO.

Services will be 2pm Tuesday at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Wyatt and Rev. Mike Hailey. Memorials may be made at the First National Bank Scholorship Fund in honor of Alana and also DARE.
