Funeral Options
Personalizing a Funeral
No two people are exactly alike. We believe no two funerals should be alike, either.
When arranging a funeral with us, you will find that we will go to great lengths to design
a service that honors your loved one's life the way you want. Our goal is to help create
a meaningful event that celebrates one's unique life.
What to do when a death occurs.
The first call you should make is Greer Funeral Home. We will handle all the
details. We don't want you to have to worry about "who to call" or "what to do
now" -- we will handle all of the details. You will need to call us and give us permission to
make the removal, and if you plan on having a traditional service give us permission to
embalm. Embalming isn't required in certain circumstances such as cremation or direct
burial.
We listen to you
When you come in to make the arrangements we will listen carefully for what is
meaningful to you and encourage you to incorporate those ideas or thoughts into the
funeral. Our trained professionals are prepared to carefully guide you, step by step,
until you have arranged the personalized service you want.
Ways to Personalize a Funeral
Our funeral director will carefully explain various options you may want to consider in
order to customize a funeral that reflects the personality of the loved one you are
honoring. For Instance:
The printed program for the service can include up to 5 color photographs along with a
favorite quote or expression.
You can have your loved one dressed in clothing from his or her own wardrobe that
reflects his or her unique personality.
You may encourage family and friends to bring photgraphs and special items to display
on our "Memory" table. This could include objects that reflect a favorite hobby
like golf or needle-point.
Include a video presentation during the service that incorporates home movies of your
loved one.
A casket can be personalized in a number of ways including choice of color,
symbols, and theme.
You may want to select special music — not just traditional hymns, but songs that were
meaningful to the deceased.
Eulogies from family members and good friends are often the most poignant and
memorable aspects of a funeral service. You may want to consider filming them in
advance.
The opportunities for honoring your loved ones are endless. We will help you provide a
personal and rewarding experience for all those who come to pay their respects.
Affordable Funerals
Some people think that funerals always cost a fortune and that there is very little you
can do about it. Nothing could be further from the truth. The truth is, a funeral
should be about celebrating a life, not spending a fortune. When you select
Greer Funeral Home, we make this promise — you can arrange the dignified
funeral you want at a comfortable price.
We are prepared to carefully guide you step by step until you have arranged the
service you want at a cost that suits your budget. You can be assured that you will
not be pressured into spending more than you want.
If you are shopping other firms in the area please understand
that we will meet or beat any advertised or wrtten offer
from any funeral home in Greer County.
If you have entered into a pre-need with ANY Funeral Home
we will happily accept the terms and the pricing of that
pre-arrangement. We will handle the details of transferring
it to us. You don't need to worry about it.
Affordable Options
The Key in making our funerals affordable are the many options we make available
to families. There are many ways you can save, some of which are just a matter of
common sense. For instance:
Bring a family member or close friend with you during the arrangement to help you
make affordable selections.
Share your budget with us so we can guide you through all the options in your
price range.
We will explain pricing for each item, allowing you to make selections at a cost to
suit your budget.
Listen to your funeral director carefully as they explain the features and benefits of each
casket. Select one in your price range that best fits the character of your loved one.
Select the kind of service you want and the location. These choices include a
graveside service which can reduct cost.
Have your loved one dressed in clothing from his or her own wardrobe rather than
purchasing new clothing.
Cremation is a choice you may want to consider to reduce expenses.
You may be entitled to certain Social Security and Veteran's benefits that can help
offset some of the funeral expenses. We'll show you how to claim them.
