Donnie Ray Hurd, age 61, passed away August 26, 2013 at 10:10AM at Oklahoma City Baptist Hospital from a long term illness.
He began to fill the pages of his book when he entered the world on July 2, 1952 in Clinton, Oklahoma, to mother Jewel Amanda Ruth Hurd and Curtis Green Jr. He graduated and later moved to Ardmore/Houston Texas area where he worked construction. Donnie later returned to Mangum Oklahoma where he lived life to the fullest with family and friends. Donnie loved playing cards and dominos, fishing, hunting and cooking. No task too big or too small! He would always come out on top! He was known as “Goose” and “Bullet” to his friends.
Donnie was preceded in death by his mother Jewel Hurd; two brothers, Jimmy Hurd and Joe Davis; and two sisters, Etta Pitts Hurd and Vivian Hurd. He leaves to cherish his memories of four generations; three sons, Billy Ray Skinner of Mangum Oklahoma, Donnie Hurd and wife Kieshia of Del City Oklahoma, John Stephen Skinner of Mangum Oklahoma; one daughter, Victoria and husband Sammy Gilmore of Mangum Oklahoma; and one brother, Freddie Lynn Hurd and wife Tavitous of Oklahoma City Oklahoma; one grandmother, Etta Mae Hurd of Ardmore Oklahoma; two aunts Donnie Mae Greene and Peggy Reed of Mangum Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
While upon his journey to his end, Donnie came (as others shall say) full circle and found peace with the Lord and shared his last wishes with his children, how he wanted to run his last race!
Go In Peace With Love Your Children
