Bobby Ray Capehart, age 71, of Mangum, passed away Wednesday morning, July 11, 2012, at his residence, in Mangum.

Mr. Capehart was born at Spiro, Oklahoma on November 10, 1940, to James Herman and Leona (Henry) Capehart. At the age of fourteen, Bobby left for California, where he worked in the orchards and lived with his brother. A few years later, he returned to Oklahoma where he joined the United States Army, under the buddy program, with his friend, Merl Gillion. After his discharge, he moved to Martha and later to Blair. On January 20, 1966, he married Edna Louise Sirmons, in Vernon, Texas and they moved to Houston, Texas where he worked in the ship yards. Moving to Tulsa, Bobby worked in the heating and air industry until they moved to Ft. Worth where he welded on oil tanks. Later, they moved to Altus where he worked at Pools Machine Shop and after an industrial accident they moved to Blair and later to Mangum in 1986, where they lived until his death. Bobby enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening, but most of all, he loved being with his grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents; one son, James Edward Capehart; two grandchildren, Cassandra Capehart and Kelsey Marie Capehart; five brothers, Billy Gene Capehart, Alvie Capehart, Harell Corbin, Cecil Corbin and Truman Corbin and three sisters, Ola Monks, Vicki Hood and Shirley Thompson, he is survived by his wife Edna Capehart of the home, in Mangum; two children, Brenda Longoria and husband Robert of Lone Wolf and Joseph Capehart and wife Nicole of Carter; one sister, Rachel Phillips of Ft. Worth, Texas; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Yoland Adame of Willow along with many other relatives and friends.
